About WFSC
What is the Consortium?
The Wisconsin Food Security Consortium is a group of representatives from public and private organizations across the state dedicated to the elimination of food insecurity in Wisconsin.
What does the Consortium do?
In its current form, the Consortium convened in 2005 to engage state and local stakeholders in a collaborative planning initiative to create and implement an Action Plan to Reduce Hunger in Wisconsin.
With guidance from its Steering Committee, the Consortium meets quarterly for an opportunity to:
- learn about issues related to food security,
- to network with others across the state, and
- to collaborate on effective responses to hunger in Wisconsin.
Recent events included a statewide Hunger Summit (October 2007); release of a statewide action plan, Ending Hunger in Wisconsin (June 2008); and Regional Hunger Forums at several locations across the state in the Fall of 2008 and Spring of 2009.
