The Wisconsin Food Security Consortium, representing diverse sectors in the fight against hunger, is dedicated to the elimination of food insecurity in Wisconsin. The Consortium serves as a forum to develop and promote effective solutions through networking, education, collaboration, new partnerships and public policy that measurably reduce hunger.

How does the 2009 economic stimulus address hunger?

On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, which provides $787 billion in emergency spending to stimulate the economy and help protect American families against the effects of the current economic crisis.

The 2008/2009 Regional Hunger Forums: A success!

In the fall of 2008, the Wisconsin Food Security Consortium hosted four regional Hunger Forums as a follow up to the 2007 Wisconsin Hunger Summit. The Forums took place in Richland Center, Rhinelander, Racine, and Rice Lake.
